Shopify speed · by hand

Your Shopify store, measurably faster on mobile.

Not another app bolting weight onto your theme. I find the bloat that's actually slowing you down, remove it by hand, and show you the before/after, honestly.

A recent result: a multi-region DTC fashion brand

418 KB 2.8 KBa heavy email popup, rebuilt as lightweight native code
−33%faster mobile load on product pages
104 82 mssnappier response when a shopper taps
0.00layout shift, so nothing jumps around as it loads

Measured on mobile, throttled to a mid-range phone. The popup is a controlled before/after.

How I work

No guesswork. No open-ended invoices.

01

Free Speed Teardown

I test your live store the way Google does, on a mid-range phone on a weak connection, and send a short, honest report hosted just for you: what's slow, why, and how much faster you'd be. If there's nothing worth doing, I'll say so.

02

Fix Sprint

Fixed scope, fixed price, agreed up front from the teardown, so there are no surprise hours. You get before/after numbers on the same test, or I keep working.

03

Performance Care

Optional, ongoing. Every app you add and campaign you run adds weight back. For brands that want to stay fast, I monitor and keep it trimmed each month.

Why a person, not an app

Apps add weight. I remove it.

Speed apps automate the easy 20%, and routinely break things or leave dead code behind. The other 80% is judgment: which of your apps ships 400 KB you don't need, why your main image loads late, what's safe to defer. That's the part I do by hand.

The asterisks, because you should have them: these are throttled lab measurements, and the popup result is the controlled before/after. I'd rather you trust the numbers than be wowed by them.

Recent example: a multi-region DTC fashion brand (US / UK / EU):

418 KB 2.8 KB

Rebuilt their email popup from a heavy third-party widget into a native one: same signup flow, ~418 KB and ~80 ms gone from every mobile load.

−28 to −33%

Mobile load across home, collection & product pages after putting the main image on the critical path.

What this is

Mobile load-speed (LCP) and third-party-weight optimisation on your Shopify theme. Honest measurement. Fixed-scope work you can say yes to.

What it isn't

A redesign, a vague "growth" retainer, or a dashboard you babysit. If you need those, I'll point you to people I trust.
